Commercial Citrus Juicers: 3 Things to Consider Before You Buy

Commercial citrus juicers are amazing machines in that they can extract a lot of juice in short order. Unfortunately, they are usually to big and expensive to fit in the normal kitchen.

There are numerous alternatives available, that will range in price and quality. So, before you buy, consider the following.

1. Ease of clean up. Juicing creates a lot of pulp waste, so the machine you buy will have a multitude of parts that need to be cleaned with a brush, especially, the strainer.

2. Power. Make sure you buy a machine with some power, check the horsepower ratings, or the watts ratings. The more, the better. Nothing worse than burning up your machine on a carrot.

3. Functionality. Some Juicers only juice. Which is OK if that's all you want out of your machine...However some machines can do juicing, and a lot more, as in replace most of your kitchen gadgets.

For instance, I saw a commercial grade juicer at a kitchen store, but I could never justify paying the over 400.00 dollar purchase price for a machine that only juices.

There are many Commercial Juicers on the market, here are a couple for you to look at.

My personal preference are the smoothie blenders made by the Vita-Mix Corporation. Vita-Mix machines have been around a long time. I remember seeing them at the State Fair when I was kid.

The Salesman always made something that tasted like a strawberry milkshake out of fruits and vegetables. I always wondered how he did that.

The Vitamix blender solved all the issues I addressed above. vitamix blender

Making juice with this machine is a snap, and clean up is so easy. This machine replaced 3 other kitchen appliances. It get's used everyday, although, I must admit, we make more smoothies than juice.

As far as functionality, it get an A+...there are so many uses for this machine...

...And, the Vita-Mix website is a wealth information, and their customer service is great.

Yes, this machine is going to set you back 4 or 5 hundred bucks, but this one is worth every penny. But, compared to a commercial citrus juicer, this is a bargain. You will soon find this out because you will not be wasting any more food.

Bananas too ripe? Freeze them, cause they are going into your next smoothie! Got a bumper crop of berries? Put them in gallon sized bags, and freeze them, come winter you will love making fresh juices and smoothies.

Remember, drink smoothies for your health and your life!
