Have you Tried a Green Smoothie? You Will Be Amazed At How Good They Are!! Read On
I must admit, the first green smoothie I made, I was very skeptical. You see, in our juicing days, we had made various juices, like carrot juice, and then added some spinach. Very bitter...with a sharp after taste.
Adding green vegetables to fruit smoothies turns out to be different experience. A green smoothie is simply a fruit smoothie with a green vegetable added.
That being said, when made correctly, you will hardly taste the vegetable component. The smoothie turns out to be rich, creamy, and thick. The most common types of vegetables found in green smoothies are:
Spinach, Kale, Broccoli, Lettuce, and CabbageSpinach is our favorite. Spinach is also a nutritional powerhouse, full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. The darker the green, the better. As with any food, the more the food is broken down, the easier it is for your body to absorb the nutritional goodness. That's why making green smoothies is such a hit. The blending process breaks down the spinach into very small pieces, enough that your digestive system will easily maximize absorption.
There are a number of "sidekicks" that resemble spinach.
