Pomegranate smoothies?

by Jennifer
(Seattle, WA, USA)

Is there an easy, inexpensive way to add pomegranate juice to a smoothie? I like the taste and the antioxidant properties, but pre-made juice is very expensive, and fresh seeds are hard on kitchen equipment. Any tips?

Pomegranate juice is expensive to make, but if you buy the pure juice, it's pretty concentrated so you don't have to use much. You will get more for your dollar. POM makes a concentrated juice. I believe they are based out of California..Don

Hi Jennifer,

Regarding the expense of Pomegranate Juice, that's hard to get away from. Making Pomegranate juice is labor and equipment intensive. I would look for the 100% juice concentrate with no sugar added.

The closet thing I have found is made by POM. You won't have to use as much, since it is so concentrated, and that way you will get more bang for your dollars.

thanks

Don
