Watermelon Sorbet is Easy to Make at Home

Watermelon Sorbet is a great summer treat. In the Pacific NW, the Hermiston area of Oregon grows some of the sweetest seedless melons. They usually start showing up in local markets mid to late summer, so they have had plenty of time to develop there sweetness.

Seedless water melons are the only way to go when making sorbet. If you are not sure, just ask the produce person at your store. If you are using an ice cream maker, or sorbet maker, you will want to follow the sorbet recipe method that came with your machine. These two recipes were adapted for the Vita Mix Smoothie Maker/Blender

The point of the vodka is not so much the flavor, but alcohol has a lower freezing temperature, hence will give this sorbet recipe a smooth consistency.
